Cookie & Tracking Policy

2. Audit of Technologies Actually Used on Archer

Archer uses ONLY essential operational and security technologies required to deliver our academic publishing platform:

A. Essential Authentication Cookies (Supabase)

When you log into your reader or author account, Supabase SSR sets encrypted session tokens (such as `sb-access-token` and `sb-refresh-token`). These cookies are strictly necessary to authenticate your requests, verify user roles, and prevent unauthorized account access.

Characteristics: Secure, HttpOnly (preventing script access), and SameSite=Lax. These expire upon logout or token invalidation.

B. Shopping Bag Local Storage (Client-Side)

When you select books in our catalogue, the item identifier, title, price, and selected quantity are held in your browser’s `localStorage` (key: `archer_cart_v1`).

Purpose: This ensures that your selected monographs remain in your cart as you browse different catalogue categories or service pages without requiring continuous database writes.

Characteristics: Stored strictly on your device; never shared with third parties; cleared automatically upon order checkout completion or when you click "Clear All Items".

C. Security & Anti-Abuse Tokens

To protect manuscript upload forms and public checkout endpoints from automated denial-of-service or brute-force abuse, our proxy and server actions utilize cryptographic rate-limiting tokens and state verification cookies.

3. Our Strict No-Advertising-Tracker Standard

Archer International Publications is dedicated to academic scholarship, not behavioral surveillance advertising.

  • NO Third-Party Advertising Trackers: We do not install Meta (Facebook) Pixels, Google Ads remarketing tags, TikTok pixels, or behavioral ad network trackers.
  • NO Commercial Data Brokering: We do not cross-track your activity across external web properties or sell reading history to data aggregators.
  • NO Invasive Fingerprinting: We do not employ canvas fingerprinting or invasive device audio fingerprinting.

Clean Browsing Experience

Because Archer utilizes exclusively essential operational storage and zero non-essential marketing cookies, our website does not disrupt your research with aggressive marketing cookie consent banners.

4. How to Manage or Disable Cookies in Your Browser

You have the legal right to decide whether to accept or reject browser cookies. You can configure or modify your browser settings to accept or refuse cookies.

• If you choose to reject essential cookies: You may still browse public book catalogue pages, service descriptions, and legal policies. However, logging into your account, submitting manuscripts, and completing book checkout will not function correctly without authentication cookies.

• To clear existing cookies: You can delete cookies and clear local storage at any time through your browser’s "Clear Browsing Data" or "Privacy & Security" settings menu.
